Chase on Delhi Roads: Women Hockey player on Wednesday chased two men who are phone snatchers in Delhi; the hockey player is travelling a bus with her friend travelling the phone snatchers snatched her friend’s phone and ran away in west Delhi Punjabi Bagh area.
The former Hockey player was Ritu Bhoriya who can be seen representing Haryana and Delhi in the national hockey tournaments and Ritu was going to Peeragarhi along with her two friends on a bus in Delhi when the phone snatchers struck on the same bus.

Ritu Bhoriya along with her two friends studies in the Delhi University’s Shyama Prasad Mukherji College and the time is about 12 noon when the bus they were travelling is stopped at Madipur bus stop and it can be reported that two men snatched one of her friends mobile phone and tried to escape from that place as soon as possible. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vijay Kumar of West Delhi is taking up the case and examine the whole incidents. Ritu who was along with her friend and has played the National level Hockey tournaments didn’t flinch and chased the two snatchers and finally, after a long chase, she caught one of the snatchers. The caught snatcher was identified as Dalchand alias Sunny of 19 years who is an active snatcher in that respective area and said that he is the resident of Bakkar Wala Village.
Ritu said about this incident and her involvement in this case as “I told my friends to walk while I started following the snatcher. I have represented Haryana and Delhi in hockey tournaments. My fitness level as a hockey player came in handy and I managed to catch one of them who had snatched my friend’s phone and ran away”. This is the first incident like this in her life and she said that she won’t hesitate to help others at any cost in future also. The Police officer said that “In the meantime, a patrolling party of police constable Siyaram also reached the spot and arrested Dalchand. The snatched mobile phone was recovered from the accused. A case was registered at the Punjabi Bagh police station and efforts were being made to arrest the absconding accused,
