It can be seen that they will offer the users talk time balance if they forward the message or fill the details in the message. The latest message in WhatsApp that went viral was that says Prime Minister Narendra Modi is offering free recharge to the people of Rs 500 each. The message can be read as “Rs 500 balance for every Indian. Reforming India. Modiji giving free balance. Click here,” by tapping on the Click here button we will be redirected to new web page in the default web browser. Then the web page asks the user to enter the mobile number with name and the cellular service provider details and the state name. After entering all the details and clicking on ‘Recharge Now’ it will again direct the user to another web page where it will ask the user to invite 15 of the friends to participate in the fake scheme.

Delete them immediately!!

 It is highly recommended to all the users to delete such of messages or similar type of messages which asks the user to share the personal details and invite a predetermined number of contacts to involve in that fake scheme. It’s better to delete those type of messages immediately. There have been a lot of rumours that are circulating around the Internet about the Indian Prime Minister sudden decision of Demonetization. By taking it as a chance, the Cyber Criminals often use social media as the platform like the Whatsapp to steal the personal information from the user.

The stealers can sell this information and they can use this in several ways. They will sell it to the highest bidder in the black market and it is advised to all the people not to take any messages about the demonetization seriously until the higher authority has been verified.
