Begum Jaan: The Bollywood heartthrob Vidya Balan took a gap after delivering great performances and winning many hearts. Over the years the talented star acted in many hit movies like Kahaani 2, Ishqya, and Parineeta. In the last movie The Dirty Picture, she won a lot of acclaim for the widely criticised biopic on a yesteryear’s famous actress.

She is all set to rob millions of hearts appearing in the title role Begum Jaan in a movie directed by Srijit Mukherji. The first look poster is out. The actress shows off her badass side.

The Begum Jaan First look Poster shows her relaxed on a cot with her sevikas around her. They are at her assistance while she smokes a hookah. This movie is supposedly a remake of a film called Rajkahini. This is a Bengali movie. The story is about the survivors defying countries to save their homes. This drama movie is set during the partition times and the changing political scenario. In the remake, Vidya plays the role of a madam from a brothel.

On the movie production front, there are only dubbing left and post-production formalities to be completed. The remake film is nearing the end of shooting. Moreover, the censor board has given this Bengali remake an ‘A’ Certificate. The Central Board of Film Certification has also not cut any scenes out. The CBFC, however, has asked for a replacement for a few cuss words or muting of such words. The movie makers have agreed for replacing or muting some words in the movie. Veteran singer Asha Bhosle sings a composition by Anu Malik. The movie stars Gauahar Khan & Naseeruddin Shah.

Meanwhile, the director of Begum Jaan, Srijit said, “I visited the Central CBFC office for the first time. They have agreed to give us an ‘A’ certificate with no cuts at all if we mute or replace certain cuss words like ‘mad****od’ and ‘bhe****d’ which we have agreed to do. I will take the final call on what to replace them with when I see the film in one flow. In fact, they even mentioned to me that they are usually very strict with words, but they have let certain words pass in our film owing to the context in which they have been said.” The movie is all set for release on March 17, 2017.
