Jayalalitha Suffers Heart Attack :Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha suffered heart attack last night and was admitted to ICU of Apollo. She is on assistant breathing where she was being monitored by experts. She is on Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) device, a heart assists device used when a patient is unresponsive to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Her party spokesperson CR Saraswathi said that Jaya had a surgery and is fine now. The ECMO will act as a life support system and provides oxygen to the body when patient’s heart or lungs fail to do so.

A team of experts, including cardiologist, pulmonologist and critical care specialist are monitoring Jayalalitha right now in the ICU. On December 4th, the hospital authorities announced that she has been recovered completely. After the announcement took place, she suffered this cardiac arrest.
The hospital tweeted saying ‘she was put on extracorporeal membrane heart assist device and is being treated by a team of expert doctors and critical care specialists.’
The hospital source said that Dr Richard Beale from London, who was consulted previously regarding Jayalalitha’s treatment, has been consulted with a line of treatment by our cardiologist and pulmonologist.
In a tweet, the hospital tweeted saying ‘Our prayers are with her and we hope she will recover soon. We request all of you to pray for her good health and well-being’, which made the things worse at the hospital.
Huge crowds of supports of Amma gathered around the hospital since the news about her ill health came out. Many policemen were on alert and are controlling the crowds.
On Saturday, the hospital management said that Jayalalitha is good enough to be discharged from the hospital, but the situation turned worse when she suffered an unexpected cardiac arrest last Sunday.
