How YOU Would Change The Wii |

Some time ago, we asked you a question important to most gamers this generation: how would you change the Wii?
This seemingly open-ended question spurred on dozens of comments echoing many of the same ideas. Many wanted HD graphics, a quality online platform and a real killer app to boot. Frankly, there were plenty of great answers, and I feel bad for the person counting them all up.
The question was dropped by SideQuesting, who used your comments in their editorial, "Redesigning: The Wii." I won't steal much of their thunder, but I'll share some of the results from their survey of sorts.
First, SideQuesting's Dalibor Dimovski mentions the onslaught of peripherals for the Wii. Ideas like MotionPlus being included with the Wii Remote and a Classic Controller would be a "blessing."
My favorite idea in terms of hardware is focusing games classically around this wireless controller in a whole new SKU, and making the Wii Remote a separate purchase for motion-based games. Surely, a drastic move like this, with more internal storage under a sexy black finish would entice the core market, right?
Simpler ideas like a "dedicated online voice chat headset" make sense, and are actually more feasible with the current Wii system.
My last highlight comes in on the software side, where the idea of an updated OS is necessary at this point for the Wii. Things like Facebook integration aren't as essential as basic friend lists. The potential for game invitations to be sent through a consolidated base system, instead of the segmented online systems for each games, is definitely realized by the gaming community.
While everyone was shouting "no friend codes" in unison, there were some rock-solid ideas on how the Wii could be better. I encourage you to check out their full results editorial, complete with drafted up pictures of these ideas and attribution to some of your comments.
Regardless, expect a full discussion on this very topic in the upcoming 150th episode of The Wiire Podcast.
