UK site MCV reported Wednesday that Nintendo will soon unveil a new bundle for the Wii, and will remain at the same retail price. Their anonymous retail "source" (making this a rumor for the time being) tipped the site on the Wii Sports-heavy bundle appearing only in UK (ed: we can safely assume this will entail Europe, not just the UK... right?).
The bundle will reportedly include both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, a Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and Wii MotionPlus (along with the obvious Wii system and cables, of course). This could potentially mark the first time Nintendo has bundled the Wii console with anything besides the standard controllers and Wii Sports.
Nintendo also recently confirmed that the Wii will get a $50 price drop in North America and Japan, effective September 27. MCV's "source" hasn't been led to believe that this bundle will be included in the price drop.
Additionally, this bundle is supposedly replacing the current one. This means that Europe could be getting this bundle to offset the lack of a price drop. With the Wii once getting a raise in trade price for Europe, at least this scenario has Nintendo giving gamers a fair trade-off. |
