In the same keynote address that Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime announced new peripheral colors for North America, he also announced new details for the sequel to Wii Fit; Wii Fit Plus.

Fitness fanatics can set the date for October 4, when the game will come to North America territories.  Designed as an upgrade, or "enhanced version" of the first game, Wii Fit Plus brings a few changes to a working formula, such as new exercises, yoga activities and balance games designed to keep workouts fun."  Users of the game can customize their workouts, while targeting specific parts of the body for different time durations.

More interestingly, Wii Fit Plus will actually replace Wii Fit on store shelves.  We can safely assume, then, that nothing from Wii Fit will be lost in the transition to the new game.  The price structure didn't make the transition, however.

The Wii Fit Plus and Balance Board bundle (above), will retail at a suggested price of $99.99.  All is not lost for current Wii Fit owners, however, as the game alone can be purchased for $19.99.

I can't decide if this is a good pricing structure.  While this isn't an entirely new game per se, at least current Wii Fit owners won't be paying more than $20.
