Black Wii Peripherals Coming to US

By Mike Suszek / Tuesday, 01 September 2009

black_peripheralsSpeaking at the 2009 GameStop Manager Conference in his keynote address, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime announced plans to release black versions of popular Wii peripherals for the Wii in North America, namely the Wii Remote, MotionPlus, and Nunchuk.

Available this holiday season, Wii owners (or non-Wii owners, though we're not sure why) can purchase a black Wii Remote and MotionPlus (above) together in a special bundle for an as-yet-announced price.  Black Nunchuks will be available this holiday season as well.

Speaking on the announcements made during his keynote, Fils-Aime said:

"All of these announcements bring more options and more choices to consumers as our industry heads into its busiest time of the year... each of these products allows consumers to enjoy a more personal gaming experience, no matter how they choose to play."

Knowing the new color options are finally coming to North America, who is considering picking up some or all of these peripherals?  Is mixing a black Nunchuk or MotionPlus with a white Wii Remote considered a gaming fashion faux pas?
