Are you an experienced gamer? Are you afraid that with Nintendo's newfound audience (the casual crowd) that suddenly your "Zeldas", "Metroids", and "Marios" will become watered-down drivel? With Metroid's pairing with Team Ninja, and the words of Shigeru Miyamoto telling us that Zelda will be more of the same, there is nothing to fear there. What about Mario? Will Super Mario Galaxy 2 be too easy? Well if you read the article's title and/or sub-heading, then you already know the answer. No.
Shigeru Miyamoto recently talked to Nintendo Power about this issue, and he spoke about creating a game that catered to both audiences, but seemed to infer that the game would tend to lean towards the more experienced crowd. "I do believe that there is a lot here to appeal to the more veteran and more experienced gamers, and I think it's a title that they will obviously enjoy," Miyamoto would go on to say.
Miyamoto also brought up how the game will not be so intensely difficult that newcomers cannot play it, but his main point that he gets across is that Mario Galaxy 2 is going to be made with the idea that players have played through the original Mario Galaxy first. "...we also built it with consideration that we believe that people who played through the first Mario Galaxy have become better players."
I don't know about you guys, but playing through some levels on Mario Galaxy were pretty ridiculous (collecting Purple Coins in Toy Time Galaxy anyone?). This can only bode well for those who like a challenge.
