Reminder: Your Club Nintendo Status Resets Next Week

By Mike Suszek / Monday, 22 June 2009

Since Nintendo unleashed Club Nintendo on North American residents back in December 2008, not much has changed.  While Japan continues to roll in the fun rewards, Wii gamers still have playing cards and Wii Remote holders to spend those hard-earned coins on.

Hopefully change is on the way, as Club Nintendo's "year" is ending next Tuesday, June 30, 2009.  At this point, all Club Nintendo Gold and Platinum statuses will reset.  What about your coins?  Club Nintendo members need not worry, as Nintendo assures you, "Although your status will reset, your remaining Coin balance will remain as is."

If you haven't reached the Elite Gold or Platinum status levels yet, you have roughly a week to get buying!  As a reminder, Gold level is 300 coins, whereas Platinum is 600 coins.

After June 30, a link on Club Nintendo will allow you to redeem your reward for reaching either status level.  Last year, Nintendo gave away calendars, Mario hats, and gold Wii Wheels (below in all its glory) as status prizes for members in Japan.

Hopefully North American residents will be thrown a bone here.  After June 30, we can assume more prizes will be available to redeem.  What would you like to see, courtesy of Nintendo?  More importantly, what do you want your reward to be?
