During the E3 press conference, Satoru Iwata announced Nintendo's newest peripheral, the Wii Vitality Sensor. This sensor will be used to measure your pulse while playing video games.
While no direct uses for it were announced, Iwata mentioned that this new peripheral can be used to help further relax gamers. It will work by plugging into the Wii remote and sliding your finger into a small plastic sensor that fits around the finger. It will probably be associated with the growing number of fitness games that will find their way to Wii.
There is no set release date on the peripheral yet, but look for games to get a lot more interactive when it releases.
Editor's note: It would be a shame if we didn't see some pulse-pounding survival horror game integration with this device. Am I right?
Update: Want to see the announcement? We've added Iwata's speech above. |
