During the stage demonstration of E3, Reggie Fils-Aime let us in on some more information about the upcoming release of Wii Sports Resort. Showing off the new Wii MotionPlus peripheral, Nintendo walked through three of the new sports we'll be seeing in the game.
The first game served as an introduction to both the game, as well as Wii MotionPlus. You start in a plane, and jump out, free falling to the ground below. You can change your position by moving and turning the Wii remote. While appearing rather bland, it should serve as a good introduction to using Wii MotionPlus.
The next game was archery. The game works by holding the Wii remote steady, and pulling the Nunchuck back behind it, imitating the motion of an archer. Two courses were shown on the 'intermediate' setting, and the game looks rather challenging.
The third and final game was played by smack-talking Reggie, and that was basketball. It was in the style of a three point shoot-out, where players race from rack to rack, attempting to sink as many threes as possible. The motion of the shot was similar to a real motion, where you bring the Wii remote up, and flick the wrist.
Look to get your hands on these games when Wii Sports Resort releases on July 26. |
