MotionPlus may be the Balance Board of 09', and the darling of all Nintendo news at the moment, but gamers have had well-placed suspicion of Nintendo. For some time now, word has been that MotionPlus had two sneaky features.
First, the rumor has been that the device could NOT be removed from the jacket it comes with. Second, rumor also has it that MotionPlus does not actually lock in to the remote like a Nunchuk or Classic Controller does. These rumors have seemed to show Nintendo's commitment to keeping wagglers from suing the company for likely not properly using their wrist strap or Wii Remote jacket.
Thanks to Matt Casamassina at IGN, we can rest easy. In his unboxing of the peripheral, he demonstrated that both of the rumors can be put to bed.
As seen in the video below, Casamassina was able to easily take the MotionPlus out of the jacket it ships in, and show that a slider lock on either side of the device clips it in to the Wii Remote. Therefore, the MotionPlus is secured, and you're free to hang up the little Wiimote jacket in the tiny Wiimote wardrobe you built.
After all, it's summer, so your remotes won't get cold. That's how it works, right?
