XSEED Games recently announced distressing news that it will not be bringing Muramasa: The Demon Blade to North America (a job now reserved for Ignition Entertainment). But fear not! Instead, XSEED revealed that Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga will come to Wii this summer.
Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga is third in a line of action RPG games, until now based on the PSP, Sony's handheld system. XSEED president, Jun Iwasaki, notes:
"We are looking forward to delivering the Valhalla Knights series to console gamers. Eldar Saga is a fantastic extension of the Valhalla Knights world/universe/story, and will offer a unique and engaging experience that is sure to please the Wii fans."
The game, while a follow up to the original PSP titles, will expand the series by offering an online co-op mode, where two players can team up in the land of Eldar. The series continues without random encounters, but now has battles occurring on the world map itself, making exploring to fighting a seamless transition.
The story takes place in Eldar, a land "synonymous with chaos and destruction." Not holding back from standard RPG archetypes, the game deals with a Spirit King controlling creatures and waging war on civilization. Four races dominate Eldar, and they must be united by the hero to bring the land back to its peaceful state. Whatever it takes to level up, right?
XSEED will be partnering with, who else, Marvelous Entertainment USA to bring the game stateside, while K2 and KUROGANE are the developers. We will bring more information about Valhalla Knights when it is available. |
