The Wiire recently polled its readers on the following question:
What's your take on the Classic Controller Pro?
The majority of people (61%) either weren't interested in a Classic Controller of any kind, or felt that the Classic Controller Pro didn't offer enough new functionality to warrant a replacement of the original.
14.8% would be interested if more Wii games (as opposed to Virtual Console or WiiWare) utilized the controller, while 13.1% of people think they will get one eventually, no matter what. Finally, 11.2% of people said that they don't have a Classic Controller yet, but might as well wait for the Pro version before picking one up (although Nintendo recently announced that they have no plans to bring it to North America).
There aren't too many games that make great use of the Classic Controller so far. And those that do usually make use of the GameCube controller in the same way. Given the popularity of using the GameCube controller (especially in Smash Bros.), a lot of gamers didn't see the point in picking up another controller that does the same thing.
What do you think? Do these results line up with your initial impressions of the Pro? Are you a devoted GameCube controller user? |
