Australian Gamers Get Animal Crossing DLC

Wii gamers in Australia get a special treat this week: Nintendo is offering limited-edition downloadable content for Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City (known as City Folk in North America).  Those that set up their consoles for WiiConnect24 in Animal Crossing will be rewarded with a bright red Pikmin hat for their character.

The downloadable add-on (seen above) helps gamers celebrate the release of New Play Control! Pikmin on February 26.  Wii owners have to act fast, though, as the Pikmin hat will only be available until February 12.  With only a few days to go, Australian gamers have to get on this soon.  That way, a certain North American Wiire Editor will gladly pay tons of bells to get ahold of this virtual hat.

Let's hope that Nintendo will take this opportunity to bring downloadable content like this to Animal Crossing in other regions (like here).  Please?

IGN posted the requirements in order to download this content, outside of being an Australian resident, and doing so within these few days:

"To download your Pikmin hat:

• Make sure your Wii is connected to the internet, with WiiConnect24 turned on 
  
• Ensure that the WiiConnect24 settings in Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City allow communication with other users - this can be done via the telephone upstairs in your room in Animal Crossing: Lets Go To The City 
  
• The postman will deliver a letter to your house with a gift attached containing the Pikmin hat"
