Recently Kotaku reported on some Dead Rising news. While not all related to the upcoming Wii version, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, is still humorous and worth checking out. There was also explanation as to reasons behind the decision to omit photography from the game.

In Dead Rising, the version for the Xbox 360, part of the game involved taking pictures to score extra experience, as well as achievements. In fact, that was the reason for the main character, Frank West to be there. Frank was a photojournalist covering the zombie outbreak, and trying to get the true story of the zombies to the public. There will be none of this in the Wii version of the game however, as Minoru Nakai, producer of the game, explains that with a change in camera, the photography element just does not work as well.
In Chop Till You Drop, the camera location has been changed from a standard third person view, as was present in the original title, to a more Resident Evil 4 type over-the-shoulder camera. Nakai also mentions that zombies are more aggressive than the rather lethargic and lackadaisical zombies found in the 360 version. Perhaps this is to make up for the apparent lack in number of zombies found in the Wii version.
Also included in the article was a rather lengthy list of rejected titles for the original Dead Rising. Some highlights include: "The End of Fair," "Dead Easter," "Scoop Boy," and "Dangerous Shopping." Head over to Kotaku for a full list.
Check out Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop when it releases on the 24th of February
