EA Mixes Tennis and WiiMotionPlus

By Andrew Clark / Wednesday, 28 January 2009

When the Wii first released, and everybody was playing Wii Sports, one of the most popular games to play at a party was Wii Tennis. Everybody seemed to get a pip out of swinging the Wiimote as if it was a tennis racket. Now imagine a more fleshed out tennis game for the Wii, one in which you can, dare I say it, move your own character!

EA plans on making this happen, with their release of EA Sports Tennis (don’t worry that’s only the working title). Looking to utilize WiiMotionPlus, the game hopes to be a more realistic, and entertaining tennis game. EA seems to be excited about the title as well. When commenting on the outlook for such a game, EA’s UK marketing director said, “There’s huge potential there.” (Via IGN)

I think we can all agree that tennis is a sport that would naturally be aided by WiiMotionPlus. EA may not only create a great game, but also showcase the potential for this great new peripheral.
