Exclusive: First Evasive Space Video From High Voltage

By Scott Barkman / Wednesday, 03 December 2008

Today, High Voltage sent The Wiire an exclusive sneak peak into their upcoming WiiWare title, Evasive Space, and it looks to be on track to start off the 2009 calendar with a bang.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder WHERE you are... The universe is going dark and it's up to you Konki, Stellar Guardian, to put things right. Dr. Dark Matter and his roving band of space thieves have stolen many of the Constellation Stones that make up the heavens. Some stones have been sold to unscrupulous space types while others were lost during the getaway. Whatever the situation, you must come through. Suit-up, power-up, and live up to the tasks at hand. Recover the lost Constellation Stones and once again bring light to the night sky.
Guide Konki on timed and collection based missions through 20 stages of varying mazes and obstacles, spanning treacherous terrains including asteroid belts, planetary rings, astro-caves, and large space stations. Hazards surround your every move - enemy fire, asteroids, black holes, tight corridors - while ship upgrades tempt you at every turn.

From the looks of it, High Voltage was able to retain that classic arcade feel while injecting the colorful level design and 'run and gun' intensity found in Gyrostarr, their previous WiiWare title. Here's to another game worthy of our hard earned Wii Points in 2009. Evasive Space is set to be released early January for 1000 Wii Points.

After seeing the first video footage of the game in action, let us know what you think in the comments below.
