Alex Rigopulos, CEO of Harmonix, the Cambridge, Massachusetts developer of Rock Band, has confirmed that Rock Band 2 Wii will get most of the downloadable songs available to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.
With an MTV representative (MTV Networks is the parent company of Harmonix) stating the company is on track to bring 500 playable songs to Rock Band 2 by the end of 2008, Rigopulos says the Wii version will see this library in the Wii store over a period of serveral months.
This is good news for Wii owners looking forward to Rock Band 2, who after learning the game would feature downloadable content and online multiplayer modes, had to cope with the game being delayed from its original November 18th release to January 5th 2009.
So does this announcement make up for the game's delay, or simply viewed as something that was to be expected in the Wii version of the game? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
