Nyko Wing Now Available in Stores

By Mike Suszek / Tuesday, 11 November 2008

It takes a lot for me to enjoy third party accessories. Manufacturers have the challenge in being able to present new and interesting features that you won't find in the first party product it is up against. One accessory put out by Nintendo that hasn't been challenged enough has been the Classic Controller. And Nyko is here to take it on with the Wing, which is now available in stores (and in the picture below).

Some of the features of the controller include:

  • Up to 10 feet of wireless connectivity via a small dongle fitted to the bottom of the Wii Remote
  • Up to 30 hours of life out of two AAA batteries, or use Mini USB port to power rechargeable batteries (cable not included)
  • Engineered for comfort, utility, and style for a comfortable fit and grip
  • Durable, responsive buttons with a unique aesthetic color scheme

Chris Arbogast, Director of Marketing at Nyko Technologies notes, "There have been very few options for classic gaming control designed specifically for the Wii until now, and the Wing provides a comfortable and affordable wireless alternative that fans of Virtual Console games will enjoy using."

Many have griped about the cord sneaking out from the bottom of the Classic Controller, and how it may impair play. With only two AAA batteries needed, this controller may be worth the extra bucks, if only for the aesthetic look and feel, like the offspring of a Super Nintendo and Playstation Dual Shock controller. The Nyko Wing is now available at North American retailers for $29.99.

Not convinced yet? We hope to give you folks a hands-on review of the new controller in the near future.
