MotionPlus Creator: We Are Not Exclusive to Nintendo |
| By Andrew Clark / Monday, 11 August 2008 |
![]() Ever since Wii MotionPlus was announced at E3, Nintendo gamers have been anxious to get their hands on one, and quickly put it to use with their Wii remote. However, within the near feature it may not require a Wii remote to utilize this technology. InvenSense, the company behind MotionPlus, has been vocal about its relationship with Nintendo, and how they are not exclusive to them. Recently the head of InvenSense spoke with Eurogamer and mentioned that while he cannot specifically comment on who, there are parties out there interested in taking advantage of MotionPlus. Perhaps Microsoft will follow in Nintendo's footsteps yet again, Sony may look to improve on their six-axis controls, or it may be a new competitor looking to make a name for themselves. If another company does decide to release a similar product, Nintendo better be sure to release some pretty unique software to make proper use of MotionPlus, or it may just become another piece of plastic.
