Something Strange in the Neighborhood

By Andrew Clark / Wednesday, 28 May 2008

Lucky for you, and for us all, Mike over at Nintendo Fan Alliance  kindheartedly compiled every news story he could find regarding the new Ghostbusters game, creating a definitive preview of the game.

The game is scheduled to release on every current-gen console, as well as the Nintendo DS and the PC. Development has been shifted into two different houses, however. Terminal Reality will lead the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC while Red Fly Studios will head up the creation for the Wii, PS2 and DS. The Wii will be the lead platform of the Red Fly development, meaning they will be able to fully take advantage of the unique gameplay options offered by the Wii. To diversify the two projects, the 360, PS3, and PC versions will all feature more realistic graphics due to advantages of hardware, whereas the Wii will have a more stylized, cartoony feel to the game.

The story so far is that it will take place two years after the second movie, (1991) and is being written by Ghostbuster alum Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.

The Wii development certainly seems to be shaping up, and looks to be another strong title for the Wii. Look to start crossing streams sometime this fall.
