Wii Game of Igor CG Film Announced

Exodus Film Group has announced a deal with Interactive Game Group (I2G) and Legacy Interactive that will bring game versions of the upcoming animated film Igor to Wii and DS next year.

The game will be an action puzzler, but the publishers did not provide further details. Whether or not connectivity between the Wii and DS versions will be implemented is unknown.

According to the press release, "The film version of 'Igor' is a playfully irreverent comedy that brings a new twist to the classic monster genre. In a world filled with Mad Scientists and Evil Inventions, one talented evil scientist's hunch-backed lab assistant has big dreams of becoming a Mad Scientist himself and winning the annual Evil Science Fair."

Tony Leondis, who worked on Disney's "Lilo & Stitch 2", will direct the film; Chris McKenna, who has written for Fox's "American Dad!" TV program, will handle the screenplay. The voice cast will consist of Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, Jennifer Coolidge, John Cusack, Arsenio Hall, Sean Hayes, Eddie Izzard, Jay Leno, Molly Shannon, and Christian Slater.

Igor is expected to arrive in North America around the time of the film's October 24, 2008 theatrical release.
