Business publication Reuters received confirmation today that George Harrison, Nintendo of America's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communication, will be leaving the company after 15 years of service. Harrison told Reuters by phone that he "will be leaving at the end of December and not making the move to California". Nintendo revealed plans earlier in the year to relocate their North American PR and Marketing divisions from the company's headquarters in Redmond, Washington to New York City and San Francisco. Faced with the option to relocate or leave the company, rumors circulated that Harrison, in addition to several other top-tier executives, would not be making the move. Nintendo has not confirmed the resignations of any executives outside of Harrison, nor has the company noted how many employees will relocate. Harrison did not comment on his plans following departure from the company. Harrison joined Nintendo in March 1992 as Director of Advertising and Promotions. He has overseen retail merchandising, publications, advertising, corporate communications and promotions during his employment. The Reuters article can be found here.
