New Bomberman Revealed for Japan

The latest issue of Japanese publication Famitsu has shed light on a new Bomberman game for Wii. Bomberman Wii will feature three modes of play: Story, Battle and "My First Bomberman". Story Mode will see Bomberman traversing 39 stages spread across five areas in an effort to rescue a player's Miis from the bosses at the end of each section. The multiplayer Battle Mode will support up to eight players both offline and over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Online rankings based on points earned from matches will also be displayed. My First Bomberman will essentially explain the basics of gameplay through various lessons. Even experienced franchise players may want to explore this mode, as the Wii game will feature new items such as a shield for blocking attacks and a rocket for escaping into the air. One of the uses for the Wii Remote will involve shaking it to release items. Bomberman Wii is expected to invade Japanese retailers this June. Publisher Hudson Entertainment has not announced a release for the game in other territories. The Wiire will continue to bring you the latest bombastic Wii news.
