Skate Coming To Wii As Skate It |

Last fall, EA challenged the long-time king of skateboarding video games, Activision's Tony Hawk series, with their own entry, Skate. In contrast with Tony Hawk's larger-than-life feel, with huge trick lists, huge combos, and huge air, Skate offered a more realistic approach, with a simple control scheme and an ability to do tricks that was dependent on how well you used the sticks and triggers you were given from the start, not how many button combinations you could memorize. For the first time in years, the Tony Hawk series has a real competitor. Now EA is looking to challenge Activision on all fronts with the announcement of Skate It for Wii and DS.![]() Visually, Skate It looks impressively similar to the original, and the Wii version promises to mimic Skate's dual-analog controls with options for the Wii Remote as well as the Wii Fit Balance Board, which is already seeing a surprising amount of interest from developers. Skate It looks like it may just be the best option yet for fans of Wii gaming and skateboarding. |
