New MLB Power Pros |
| By Andrew Clark / Sunday, 11 May 2008 |
![]() Capitalizing off of the success of its first North American release, Konami and 2K Sports will release a new installment of the popular MLB Power Pros series this year. MLB Power Pros 2008 attempts to take the success of the old, and mix it in with new features and modes. In building off of the foundation laid down by the first release, MLB Power Pros 2008 will feature the same pick-up-and-play accessibility, as well as the Chibi-Style that made the game so wildly popular. Along with a similar visual style, Power Pros 2008 will also return with the popular modes such as Exhibition, League, Home Run Derby, Success, and Season modes. A fresh new mode will be added, named MLB Life, in which the player will reenact the life of an MLB player in his 20-year career. In attempts to make the game as realistic as possible, players will run into a large variety of situations on and off the field, including the signing of contracts, purchasing houses, interactions with teammates, and even finding hobbies to pass the free-time. Other additions include defensive shifts, and a more intuitive pitching substitution mode. Look forward to this solid MLB title releasing in July for Wii, and sometime this fall for DS. |
