During a conference call announcing the studio's latest music game, Rock Band, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos discussed the possibility of a Wii version. Rock Band is currently slated for a holiday 2007 release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. When asked if the game might arrive on Wii, Rigopulos stated, "Absolutely. We will, at some time, bring Rock Band to every [major] platform." He added that Harmonix would optimize future versions of the game to fit the strengths of the system, saying, "I think the Wiimote is something that holds enormous promise." Harmonix is best known for developing the Guitar Hero franchise. Publisher Activision gained the rights to Guitar Hero after MTV acquired Harmonix in September 2006. The Wiire will have more rocking Wii news for you as it happens. |
