Link to the Past, Genesis Titles to Join VC

Update: Without notice, Sega altered the release dates for its three following titles from January 22 to January 29. The Wiire apologizes for any inconveniences. Four new games are planned for release on Wii's Virtual Console today: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Bonanza Bros., Gain Ground and Comix Zone. Descriptions for these titles can be found below. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Super NES, 800 Wii Points) - Return to an age of magic and heroes. When an evil magician named Agahnim begins kidnapping young maidens in Hyrule in a quest to break the imprisoning seal on Ganon, a young boy named Link is called upon to stop him. Link must venture into twisting mazes, dungeons, palaces and shadowy forests as he searches for the maidens and Princess Zelda. Traversing both Light and Dark Worlds, he must navigate eight dark dungeons, fighting evil enemies and huge bosses. Help our hero prevent Ganon and Agahnim from shattering Hyrule forever. Gain Ground (Genesis, 800 Wii Points) - In the 31st Century, the human race was near perfection: no war, no poverty, and no conflict. With nothing to worry about, people lost their ability to cope with problems and conflicts and their survival instincts were nearly forgotten. The United Earth Government grew concerned over their passive planet and created the Gain Ground system, a war simulator that would help humans rediscover their lost instincts. Yet, the system malfunctioned and the creators became prisoners in their own creation. Team up with two courageous comrades to rescue your fellow humans and destroy the system. Comix Zone (Genesis, 800 Wii Points) - Sketch Turner, an artist from New York City, was sketching during a huge thunderstorm when a bolt of lightning hit his drawing, bringing it to life. The image, Mortus, is a megalomaniac mutant who wants to become real and rule the earth. Mortus magically transports Sketch into the pages of his comic book so that he can end his creator's life and become real. There Sketch meets General Alissa Cyan, who believes he is a superhero that has come to save their post-apocalyptic world from Mortus. Now that he's a comic book superhero, Sketch can instantly fight like a one-man mercenary platoon! Bonanza Bros. (Genesis, 800 Wii Points) - Mobo and Robo Bonanza are watching TV when suddenly a shadowy figure appears on screen. The figure offers them a reward for helping him test the security in his buildings by retrieving certain items. They agree to get the job done in just three minutes, but they don't yet know that each building is packed with security guards and there is huge reward if they are apprehended. Fortunately, they are equipped with bullets that can knock the guards unconscious for a few seconds. Help the Bonanza Bros. infiltrate a number of different locations ranging from banks to mansions to casinos! All of aforementioned titles can be found in the Wii Shop channel. To purchase these games, players will need Wii Points, which may be bought through the Wii Shop channel or by redeeming Wii Points cards at select retailers. The Wiire will continue to update you on Virtual Console additions.
