Virtual Console at Nintendo's Booth, Interface Unfinished

By The Wiire Staff / Wednesday, 10 May 2006
Live from the E3 2006 showfloor, The Wiire reports that Nintendo is showcasing the Virtual Console service within the company's booth.

On display for the Virtual Console are Nintendo, SEGA and Hudson titles. The interface for the service was simplistic in design, incorporating only a white screen with the respective console faded into the background, titling the Wii Remote to the side to select individual titles. However, a Nintendo representative who spoke to The Wiire noted that the interface was only an E3 mock-up and may or may not be representative of the final design.

During Nintendo's pre-E3 media briefing, the company touched only momentarily on Wii's Virtual Console service. Nintendo did not announce what titles gamers could expect when the console launches this fall. Although the Virtual Console playing in Nintendo's booth included games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario World and Super Mario 64, it's difficult to determine the full range of titles on the service at this time.

The Wiire will have further updates from E3 2006.
