According to Reuters, Nintendo has announced plans to sell its products in Russia beginning in November. Nintendo of Europe, having catered to Western European markets for some time, is seeking fresh markets with growth potential. A local Russian agency has been appointed to distribute Nintendo's products around the country, where Sony and Microsoft have already discovered some initial success. Wii's European launch takes place December 8. Russia, presumably, will receive units of Nintendo's next-generation console at the same time as its Western counterparts, if not soon afterwards due to high demand and limited supply. The Reuters article can be found here. The Wiire will continue to update you on Nintendo's global strategies. |
