Warner Bros. revealed today that Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal is in development for Wii, PS2 and Xbox 360. The game is expected to release this fall. "Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal is updating the classic characters in engaging ways that will appeal to new generations of fans as well as the loyal fans of these enormously popular cartoons," said Jason Hall, founder of Warner Bros. Interactive. "The game captures the great irreverence of the Looney Tunes' humor and allows players to take the characters where they have never gone before with next-generation gameplay and graphics." Developed by Australian studio Red Tribe, the action-adventure title will allow players to battle with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Gossamer and a special secret character. Whether playing alone or in two-player co-op, gamers will engage in fast-paced combat, puzzles and vehicle-based action while traveling to locales inspired by classic Looney Tunes cartoons. Warner Bros. did not state how the Wii controls will be utilized, only that players will take full advantage of gesture-based controls during different action scenarios. Additionally, Red Tribe is also developing two other titles for Wii: a third-person action game set in a post-apocalyptic future to be released in 2008; and a sci-fi horror FPS expected to release in 2009. Both of the aforementioned games are also planned to release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Stay with The Wiire for more cartoon craziness. |
