Wii Play American Release Delayed

According to an update on Nintendo's online press room, the mini-game compilation Wii Play will release in the Americas on February 12, 2007, rather than during January as previously expected. Similar to Wii Sports, Wii Play features an assortment of games, such as billiards, air hockey and ping pong. Additionally, the game will ship with one Wii Remote packaged in, though it's unknown at this time how the inclusion affects the retail price. Although Wii Play began merely as a set of tech demos, Nintendo Game Designer Shigeru Miyamoto later proposed that those demos become a collection separate from Wii Sports that would further demonstrate Wii's potential.
