No More Heroes: Beam Katana Abilities

By Shawn White / Monday, 09 July 2007
The official No More Heroes Web site revealed new details regarding the abilities of Travis Touchdown's Beam Katana weapon.

Travis will win the Beam Katana through an online auction in No More Heroes and use the lightsaber-like sword as his primary weapon. The Beam Katana will have the ability to deflect bullets and literally cut through enemies. Players will need to keep the Beam Katana charged either by collecting batteries or quickly shaking the Wii Remote up and down.

More No More Heroes media can be found here.

No More Heroes will not allow players to swing the Wii Remote in any fashion and have Travis mimic the movement (known as 1:1 motion). Rather, the Wii Remote will distinguish between three height levels (low, middle and high), with the A button used to swing Travis' sword in most cases. Instances may occur when Travis will be locked in a stalemate with another sword wielder, in which case players can rotate the Wii Remote in order to push the enemy's blade down.

No More Heroes is expected to see release later this year in Japan and North America, with an early 2008 release planned for European territories.

Don't worry about resorting to online auctions because The Wiire will bring you all the latest Wii news.
