Treasure Island Z Officially Named

By Shawn White / Wednesday, 16 May 2007
Publisher Capcom announced today Zack & Wicki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, the new title for the Wii-exclusive game previously known as Treasure Island Z.

"Innovation has been the cornerstone of Capcom's successful history," said Director of Brand Marketing Jack Symon. "By introducing a whole new level of interactivity, this title reinforces our commitment to pushing the limits on how people view and play games."

Slated for a Fall 2007 release, Quest for Barbaros' Treasure will see players controlling the chocolate-loving pirate Zack and his flying golden monkey partner Wiki who crash on a mysterious island and go hunting for a legendary treasure. Quest for Barbaros' Island will focus primarily on puzzle-solving and humor. Players will move Zack and Wiki through a jungle, volcanic caves, an ice temple and more by pointing with the Wii Remote and using a variety of items and gestures to interact with the environment.

The game will feature a cel-shaded art style and, according to Capcom, upwards of 40 hours of play time. Media for Quest for Barabaros' Treasure can be found in our media section.
