In Wing Island, players will assume control of an aircraft squadron that embarks on various missions to conquer islands. Missions range from popping ballons, to putting out fires, to seeking out elusive bovines, with difficulty increasing as the game progresses. New planes can be unlocked upon completion of certain missions.

Regarding controls, the Wii Remote acts as the yoke of the plane. Tilting the controller upwards will cause the squadron to react accordingly, as will tilting downwards. Twisting the Wii Remote left or right initiates barrel rolls. In addition, the squadron formations can be altered at the press of a button; flicks of the wrist activate formation-specific maneuvers.

Wing Island will also feature a two-player multiplayer mode in which players participate in a series of competitive tournaments, such as popping balloons or sky racing.

Wing Island is expected to arrive within Wii's Japanese launch window, which lasts approximately from December 2, 2006 to March 31, 2007. No release date has been set for the game in other territories.
