EA to Discuss The Sims Wii at GDC

By Shawn White / Thursday, 25 January 2007
According to an update on the Game Developer Conference Web site, Maxis Game Designer Robin Hunicke is scheduled to deliver a lecture regarding the Wii-exclusive Sims title.

Titled "Small Changes, Big Results: Redefining a PC franchise for Nintendo Wii," Hunicke's presentation will examine the core systems of the PC and console iterations of the Sims, and discuss the new gameplay opportunities made possible by Wii. A date and time for the lecture has not yet been disclosed.

The Sims Wii (tentative title) departs from previous games in the series with a completely different art style - closer to that of Nintendo's own Animal Crossing but with human inhabitants - and fresh Wii-specific gameplay mechanics, though the latter have not yet been detailed.

GDC 2007 runs from March 5-9 in San Fransisco, California. The conference Web site can be found here.

The Wiire will have more as GDC approaches.
